My background includes prior service in the Army Infantry, 40 hours of one-on-one instruction with “Bullseye Steve” Cline and Ivan Hernandez to the intermediate marksman level in addition to completing both the NRA Basic Pistol Instructor course (TJ Johnston, instructing) and Gunsite Academy’s 250 Pistol Course.
I was not raised with firearms in the home. Even after my military stint, I didn’t consider myself a member of the responsibly armed community and when I began to train again, I simply wanted to be a better marksman.
However, I soon recognized that owning a gun was synonymous with being knowledgeable about the skills and attitudes that accompany such a right. I therefore sought the best available guidance and soon, with my passion for teaching, earned certification.
By teaching to the Triad – Gunhandling, Marksmanship, and Mindset – my offering is a comprehensive introduction to responsible gun ownership. Furthermore, the 4-hour Refresher and the 9-hour Fundamentals course meet training requirements for obtaining your concealed handgun permit (CHP) in Colorado. Upon completion, you will possess foundational knowledge and skills exceeding that of the average gun owner.
To achieve such a result will require an investment of effort and time. I build ample repetition and group discussion into my course. I help you to clarify your moral, emotional, and legal foundation and sharpen your fundamentals.
